Set in the hills of Panchgani, Mount View Heritage is a home shaped by history and care. Originally built in the 1800s as a nunnery, it was converted into a hotel in 1923 and has remained largely unchanged since. With just 11 rooms, the same number from the beginning, the property has grown through preservation, not expansion. Our great-grandfather, Dhanjishaw Khambata, moved here from Mumbai with his family, choosing a quieter life in the hills. That sense of home continues today, from recipes passed down through generations to the warm, personal hospitality we share with every guest.
At Mount View, we've always believed a stay should feel like coming
home. Originally built as a nunnery in the 1800s and turned into a
hotel in 1923, Mount View has remained unchanged with its 11 rooms and
timeless colonial charm. Our great-grandfather, Dhanjishaw
Khambata, moved here with his family, bringing with him traditions
that continue even today. Many of our recipes have been passed
down through generations, cooked under our parents’ supervision - the
same food we enjoy ourselves. Whether you're here for quiet
rest or celebration, we're delighted to welcome you into our family’s
hillside haven.
